A day-by-day cram plan and 150 practice questions, sorted by the four exam sections. You stop wondering what to review and spend your last week on the topics that carry the most questions.

This is a pre-order. The guide is not written yet. It ships by Thursday, November 12, 2026. If it doesn’t, you get a full refund on request. You can also ask for a full refund on request any time before it ships.

Who it’s for

  • You have your Series 65 booked within the next few weeks and you’ve already done a first pass through the material.
  • Your practice scores sit in the high 60s or low 70s, and you can’t tell which topics are holding you back.
  • You failed once and want a tighter plan for the retake. The NASAA (North American Securities Administrators Association) waiting period after a first or second failed attempt is 30 days.

Not for you if you haven’t started studying yet. Start with our Series 65 2026 Complete Guide instead.

The exam you’re preparing for

These facts come from NASAA’s exam pages, checked on October 21, 2026.

  • 130 scored questions plus 10 unscored pretest questions, with 180 minutes to finish.
  • You pass by answering at least 92 of the 130 correctly. It isn’t a simple percentage, and the sections are weighted, so you can’t average your section scores.
  • The exam is closed book, and you see your result as soon as you finish.
  • The four sections, under the outline that took effect June 12, 2023: Economic Factors and Business Information (15%), Investment Vehicle Characteristics (25%), Client Investment Recommendations and Strategies (30%), and Laws, Regulations and Guidelines, including the ban on unethical business practices (30%).

Chapter outline

  1. Day 7: Find your weak spots in 60 minutes. Take a 40-question diagnostic and score it by section with a simple tally sheet.
  2. Day 6: Laws and ethics, part 1. Who counts as an investment adviser or an IAR (investment adviser representative), registration, exclusions and exemptions under the Uniform Securities Act.
  3. Day 5: Laws and ethics, part 2. Unethical practices, custody, fees, fiduciary duty and what the state Administrator can do.
  4. Day 4: Client recommendations. Suitability, risk tolerance, asset allocation, retirement accounts, and how to read a client profile question.
  5. Day 3: Investment vehicles. Bonds, stocks, options, funds, ETFs (exchange-traded funds), annuities and private funds, compared side by side.
  6. Day 2: The math, on one page. Current yield, YTM (yield to maturity), Sharpe ratio, time value of money and inflation-adjusted return, each with a worked example.
  7. Day 1: A light review and a full-length timed set. Pacing checkpoints for 180 minutes and a “stop studying” cutoff the night before.
  8. Exam morning checklist. ID, arrival time, and how to flag and come back to hard questions.

What’s included

  • A PDF of about 60 pages, readable on a phone
  • 150 original practice questions, each with a 2–4 sentence explanation, spread across the four sections in their exam proportions: 23 economics, 37 vehicles, 45 recommendations and 45 laws
  • A 7-day plan with time blocks, totaling about 18 hours
  • A 1-page formula sheet with 12 formulas and a worked example for each
  • A tally sheet to score your practice results by section
